Physical Education (PE) at BSA enables all children to develop physical competence and confidence which they use to perform in a range of activities. PE promotes physical development, skills and knowledge. Pupils have opportunities to be creative and competitive and to face challenges both as individuals and as team members.
In the Foundation Stage, pupils’ PE is developed through hand, eye and physical coordination and includes participation in a variety of games. Throughout their school life, pupils will experience a wide range of sports and games, including: swimming, gymnastics, dance, athletics, cricket, netball, hockey, basketball and rounders.
Key Stages 2, 3, 4, and 5 have their PE lessons at the prestigious Sporting Club of Alexandria. Their excellent facilities include a huge well-kept field (where football, cricket, softball and athletics take place), numerous basketball and volleyball courts, a tartan 100 metre track with jumping pits and an Olympic-sized, heated swimming pool.
We celebrate whole school participation in Sports Day, House competitions and also sporting events with other schools. |
