Key Stage 2 (KS2)

Key Stage 2 (KS2) encompasses ages 7 to 11 (Years 3 to 6). During KS2, the curriculum builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in KS1, with an increased focus on academic rigor and depth of understanding. Core subjects—English, Mathematics, and Science—remain central, with additional emphasis on subjects such as History, Geography, Design and Technology, Art and Design, Music, Computing, and PE. Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) may also be introduced. The curriculum aims to develop independent thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper understanding of subject content. Assessment at the end of KS2 helps gauge students’ readiness for secondary education.
