Secondary School (KS3 – KS4)

The Secondary School phase includes Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), catering to students aged 11 to 16 (Years 7 to 11).

Key Stage 3 (KS3): Ages 11 to 14 (Years 7 to 9). The curriculum in KS3 continues to provide a broad and balanced education across a wide range of subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Modern Foreign Languages, Art, Design Technology, Computing, Music, Physical Education, and Religious Studies. KS3 is designed to consolidate prior learning and prepare students for the more specialised study at KS4. It encourages analytical thinking, research skills, and effective communication.

Key Stage 4 (KS4): Ages 14 to 16 (Years 10 and 11). At KS4, students begin their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) courses. They typically choose a combination of core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Science) and optional subjects based on their interests and future aspirations. GCSEs are designed to be rigorous, with final examinations assessing students’ knowledge and understanding. The KS4 curriculum aims to prepare students for further education, whether that be A-levels, vocational qualifications, or other pathways.
